We grow a wide variety of open-pollinated vegetables and herbs, most of them
heirlooms. Diversity is one of the primary keys to a healthy ecosystem, and over
the last 7 years we have seen first-hand the results of focusing on diversity
and building a healthy soil foundation in the quality of our crops. Our focus is
on heirloom varieties of produce; everything we grow is open-pollinated. We try
to grow several varieties of each type of vegetable, more than 25 kinds of hot
peppers and more than 10 kinds of tomatoes in addition to many other items. We
also grow several types of culinary herbs and 4 varieties of raspberries. In
2004 we started a small heirloom orchard.
