Island Goode’s Sustainable Farm is a 7.5 acre sustainable CSA Farm located on
the Island of Hawaii, 5 miles north of Hilo. The property has two running
streams. Some of our projects include raising 300+ chickens, which provide
manure for composting, eggs, and fertile eggs for breed stock. We incubate and
raise pullets. We also have several 300 gallon Tilapia fish tanks, using their
water as fertilizer to the covered/screened vegetable gardens. This is a
powerless system using gravity to distribute the fish water. We call this “green
alga technology”. We also raise worms for composting. Crops grown include
bananas, coffee, corn, beans, tomatoes, carrots, passion fruit, oranges, lemons,
limes, tangerines, avocados, and many other tropical fruits and vegetable.
Nursery stock includes plants of all kinds, such as palms, fruit, ornamental
trees, tropical plants and flowers. We have openings for Internships,
Eco-Tourism and a Bed and Breakfast. You will enjoy the experience… come see
