Option 2. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
CSA is a produce subscription
program. For $40 a month, paid in advance, you receive organically-grown produce
from Common Good City Farm on a weekly basis. WIC checks accepted. The program
runs May until the end of October, and the deadline to sign up will be a week
before the start of a new month. The last day of the month is the last day to
sign up to start the CSA program the following month. Pick up will be every
Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm and Friday 10am to 12pm, and produce can be delivered to
Washington D.C. locations for special circumstances (disability, conflict in
schedules, etc).
Eligibility: To be eligible for Green Tomorrows, you must
make less than a DC living wage, which is $480/week without children or
$980/week with children or other dependents.
