BFC is a cooperative buying club, based in the community of Brighton (about 40
miles northwest of Detroit), that purchases organic/natural food, earth-friendly
products, and other such goods on a monthly basis from United Natural Foods
(UNF), Frontier Coop, and various local suppliers, then distributes those goods
to its members through member participation. Some fees and mark-ups are applied
to support operations, but excess funds are donated to local charities at year's
end.
