W.E.I. is a nonprofit environmental justice retreat center located a hour north
of the Twin Cities. We believe that there is a direct correlation between
enviromental justice and agriculture. This year we have been excited to embark
on our first year as the new Minnesota Growing Power Regional Outreach Training
Center. In addition to offering farming education workshops and Growing Power
training weekends, we also run a thriving CSA farm, providing our members with a
weekly box of certified organic produce. Our season runs from mid June to mid
October. Starting in August our members will receive apples from our organic
apple orchard. We hope through our educational programs and our CSA we will
connect people to enviromental justice issues by providing them with local food.
We like to call it "food justice"
