Animals Australia (formerly known as ANZFAZ) is Australia's foremost animal
protection organisation. It was founded in 1980 by Professor Peter Singer
(author of 'Animal Liberation') and Christine Townend (founder of the first
Animal Liberation group in Australia). It is the umbrella organization for
around 40 animal protection member societies groups in Australia. These member
groups gather in a capital city annually for Animals Australia's AGM.
