Veterinarian supervised avian rescue group. We provide contacts to owners
attempting to rehome their bird, provide emergency assistance to owners and
local humane societies when large numbers of birds need help. We are involved in
"bird mill" rescue, and recently have intervened on behalf of law enforcement
and an owner when they were being unfairly accused by extreme welfare groups. We
provide education to owners and assistance so they can keep their bird. We are a
network of several veterinarians and professionals from all walks of life. Many
of us have birds, others are just available when a bird temporarily needs a safe
place to stay until going to a new home. We strongly encourage aviary living
environments for smaller birds and nonbreeding multi bird households, where
practical, for the larger species to better simulate the natural environment.
The vast majority of health problems in young birds are related to the lonely
and nonstimulating environment in which they live. No monetary donations
accepted.
