CHAI, www.chai-online.org. est. 1984, sister charity in Israel, Hakol Chai. - campaigns to ban horse-drawn carts on city streets (horses often abused and abandoned) and to prevent gambling on horse racing from entering Israel. - creating a humane education curriculum for secular schools and another for Jewish schools. - imported first animal ambulance and first mobile spay/neuter clinic, offered low-cost spaying and neutering throughout the country via the clinic. - co-sponsored, with government ministries, educational conferences for educators and veterinarians. - sent funds, equipment, supplies and veterinary drugs to shelters and helped establish new shelters where none existed. - rescued and rehabilitated animals, including horses, and offered a lifeline for animals during emergencies (Disengagement from Gaza, war with Hezbollah in Lebanon), distributing food and water, rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals, flew 39 rescued puppies to the U.S.
