Our mission: preserve and protect the natural character of California's Santa
Cruz Mountains, and encourage appropriate public enjoyment of this environment.
We seek to achieve this purpose in several ways: by acquiring suitable land in a
working partnership with the State of California and other public and private
agencies; by completing Big Basin Redwoods and Castle Rock state parks; by
fostering public participation in activities such as reforestation and trail
projects; and by linking parks and open spaces to provide an integrated parkland
system
