The Michigan Industrial Hemp Education and Marketing Project is dedicated to
expanding industrial hemp as an agricultural resource for Michigan farmers;
providing a natural, renewable and CO2-neutral environmental option to move our
state into the new Green Economy. They understand anything made from polluting
petrochemicals can be made from biodegradable hemp - including but not limited
to - paints, varnishes, fuel and everything environmentally-damaging fossil
fuels began replacing in the early 1900s.
MI-HEMP will do this by educating
the public and state government officials about Industrial Hemp, by trying to
clear up myths and teach the facts through meetings, seminars and booths at
public events. They also work to connect consumers and vendors of hemp products
in Michigan and throughout the country.
The organization is headed by Everett
Swift of Hillman, MI.
