The Columbia and Snake Rivers Campaign is a project of Save Our Wild Salmon, a
coalition of conservation organizations, commercial and recreational fishing
associations and businesses, and clean energy and taxpayer advocates working
together to protect and restore wild salmon and steelhead to abundant,
self-sustaining, and fishable populations. We seek to modify or partially
dismantle four federal dams on the lower Snake River in the Columbia Basin in
the Pacific Northwest. Partial removal of the four dams on the lower Snake River
in Washington State will restore over 140 miles of vital river habitat and
reconnect endangered salmon with thousands of miles of historic habitat. We are
committed to working with the various stakeholders in the region to ensure that
the limited services provided by these dams are replaced with cost-effective
alternatives and that necessary actions are undertaken to ensure that the
communities of the region are able to move forward and prosper.
