Purpose: To support individuals in achieving the benefits of vegetarian and vegan
lifestyles.
Vision: The Vancouver Island Vegetarian Association is a thriving
community of members who inspire, lead and support others in their exploration of a
vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. We believe that vegetarianism is a fundamental tenet of a
just and healthy society.
Mission: VIVA is a non-profit organization which
encourages respect for all living beings by providing resources and support to any person
interested in the personal and global benefits of adopting a vegetarian or vegan diet. We
organize social activities and seek out opportunities to educate our members and the
public about these benefits.
Values: We conduct ourselves ethically and with
integrity. We show respect for all animals, both human and nonhuman, in our words and
actions. We act in the spirit of community and co-operation.
