We’re a non-hierarchical, collectively run food co-op committed to serving the
UCSD population with low cost, nutritious, and environmentally responsible food.
We at the Co-op reflect on the environmental benefits of supporting sustainable
foods and products found in our store. At the Food-Co-op, we pledge to sell and
support vegetarian foods. We carry no products produced as a result of the death
or mistreatment of any kind of animal. We carry no products containing harmful
additives like preservatives and therefore support and carry organic foods.
Products from local companies hold priority in our store. The Co-op attempts to
minimize waste by purchasing and selling products in bulk and by prioritizing
items that are reusable and recyclable. Finally, we pledge to promote fair trade
labor standards.
