One of our favorite ways to combine the values of cooperativism, environmental
concerns, and supporting local endeavors is to buy local. It is one of our goals
to buy locally whenever we can combine our needs for quality product that meets
our standards and varied selection. We love our farmers! Blackstar Dairy in
rural Solway is family owned and operated, Ed and Lily Vesley supply us with
wonderful produce, dried pinto and kidney beans, and free range eggs. Yma,
Shane, and Bodi Sautbine are in their second season of organic gardening and
their green thumbs only grow greener – their fresh greens are outstanding! These
are just a few of our local family farmers; we also carry items from fresh
roasted coffee to wild rice to naturally raised meats - all local, all produced
by individuals who are our neighbors.
