Placer Nature Center, located in Auburn, CA offers activities and classes in
wildlife, astronomy, reptiles, gardening, art, insects, ecology, watershed &
much more for both children and adults! Come see how fun environmental education
can be!
We have a simple mission: give children the opportunity to learn
about and experience nature first hand.
The education we provide at Placer
Nature Center focuses on using the environment to engage students in science
learning through, awareness and sensitivity to the total environment and current
issues, hands-on experience in a natural environment
& establishing a sense of
connection to the environment.
Through experiential learning, students
understand that every aspect of our lives, actions, behaviors, and our
environment are inseparable. Children are challenged to work in teams, analyze
and interpret data, make decisions, use critical thinking and and learn how to
become skilled communicators.
