COMMENT from Elise Gallinot on Sep 23, 2013 Bonne Terre Cottage is a country wonderland. Situated on a gorgeous farm, step out onto the porch to meet the horses, goats and chickens. The owners, Jen and Todd, are thoughtful, kind and environmentally conscious. There is locally made soap in the bathroom, local art hung throughout the cottage and often produce from their organic garden in the kitchen. We visit every opportunity we have and always have an amazing time. For the perfect peaceful country get away visit Bonne Terre Cottage! Post (and email) a response |
COMMENT from Margaret on Aug 20, 2013 Bonne Terre Cottage lowers your blood pressure the moment you walk through the doors. A peaceful well-designed cottage in a beautiful natural setting. You will look out at friendly horses in the pasture. You can smell the blooming trees and hear the tinkling of wind chimes. A great retreat for writing, painting, or just plain being. COMMENT from Meredith and Win Blevins on Aug 20, 2013 We are writers. Although we live in the country, a retreat is more than a home in a beautiful piece of the countryside. A retreat gives you the chance to see the world with new eyes. It is the heart of inspiration. It is the soul of creativity. It is about possibilities. It is not a luxury -- it is a necessity. Bonne Terre Cottage is life renewed, and that renewal is all about the joy. You can feel the joy and love in the land, in the floorboards, in the light coming through the windows, in the wrap-around porch and lovely kitchen. (Because, of course, every good reawakening requires terrific food!) 15 minutes away, you're in Lafayette. 2 hours, or a little less, in New Orleans. You can also make a trip up the Natchez Trace if you're into poking around and feeling echoes of the past. Art seems to spring up organically and with a lot of passion. Countryside and City vibes -- you've got it all at Bonne Terre Cottage. And the hosts, Jen and Todd Mouton, are two of the kindest people you could come across. (And, a whole lot of fun.) We're visiting again this fall, and we have been counting the days for some time now. Healing, juicy, jazzy, peaceful. Really? what could be better? Post (and email) a response |
