COMMENT from sarah   on Apr 29, 2012    Jennifer was recommended to me by a friend whose birth she attended. They absolutely loved her and I couldn’t agree more. Even my midwife, who had worked with her in the past, told me I had the best doula in the area. I am a single mother so it was very important to have someone I trusted and could count on. During my pregnancy she spent a lot of time getting to know me and my ideas about my birth experience. She listened without judgment and was knowledgeable about everything from pregnancy to after birth. By the time I went into labor I felt completely prepared. Using the techniques she taught me I was able to labor at home for 20 hours before heading to the hospital. In the hospital she was at my side massaging me and making sure that I was comfortable with everything that the midwives, doctors, and nurses were doing. Due to circumstances beyond our control, I ended up needing a C-section. She was with me in the OR and explained everything they were doing. She also made sure that I was able to hold my baby skin-to-skin while they closed my incision, which is not hospital policy but was very important to me. I believe this was due to her outstanding reputation with the doctors and midwives. I feel extremely lucky to have had her at the birth of my daughter and could not imagine having to go through it without her. She is a truly beautiful person. Post (and email) a response

She truly got to know me, and anticipated Everything that I needed during labor. She has a great personality, very sweet, and honest. My midwife was very impressed with her, as was my family! COMMENT from Caroline   on Apr 22, 2012    I interviewed several doulas prior to Jennifer but felt she was the one who really "listened" to my needs and the goals I had for my birth experience. She is very professional and takes good care of you while pregnant and was able to answer any questions I had! She has the best "bedside manner" and helped me and my husband to have the birth we wanted. Our midwife was impressed with her, the nurses at the hospital were impressed with her. We interviewed several doulas but when we met Jennifer - we just knew. Jennifer spent so much personalized time with us to build a relationship and to get ready for our baby. Once I went into labor, Jennifer was there from the beginning until the end of a long, arduous labor. Her presence and expertise made it possible for us to meet our goals and deliver a healthy baby with the knowledge and preparation we would not have otherwise had! Post (and email) a response
