COMMENT from Barb Mosher on Mar 7, 2009 I have visited Dianne's home and shelter and had the pleasure of "meeting" the animals under her care. She is an incredible woman with unmatched compassion and expertise. She not only rescues the animals, she provides them with the best possible care and environment. Her shelter is truly a place of refuge, recuperation and relief for animals unable to survive in their natural environment. Post (and email) a response |

COMMENT from Debra Ferguson on Mar 7, 2009 I am a long time friend of Dianne's. I can speak for the incomparable love that all animals receive under her care. She is the Dr. Doo Little for Prairie Dogs, an angel on earth that cares for the most needy, sick and precious creatures. Her love gives them life. Post (and email) a response |

COMMENT from Yvonne Boudreaux on Mar 6, 2009 The Midwest Prairie Dog Shelter is unique for long term and hospice care of compromised prairie dogs. Prairie Dog Pals was so fortunate to meet Dianne and see the facility firsthand several years ago. The prairie dogs that live in her care lack for nothing and have the most peaceful and enriched lives. I wish that every prairie dog unable to survive in the wild could end up there. COMMENT from Edmond Urbanski on Mar 5, 2009 I have visited the shelter and confirm that Ms. James runs a state of the art operation. The prairie dogs are compassionately housed and handled and are provided with all the necessary care and attention needed to complete their lives as comfortably as possible. I have reviewed the mission, vision, values and goals of the shelter and can confirm that they laudable and are being adhered to consistently. During my visit I observed her protocols in practice and can confirm based on her practices and my experience that she has taken every possible precaution to protect the prairie dogs and her surrounding environment. A local veterinarian routinely checks the prairie dogs. They are housed in sturdy cages in a secure area of the house. Their diets are well balanced and are consistent with expert recommendations in terms of variety and content. The prairie dogs receive daily enrichment and are kept is a spotless, secure, and sanitary environment. Post (and email) a response |
