COMMENT from thunder on Mar 10, 2008 I prefer MOMs over Whole Foods generally. Since they only carry organic produce, you don't waste needless time wandering around the produce island to find what you're looking for. The ambience is also 100% better. It's a smaller store, less crowded, more laid-back feel, relaxed, often with classical music. In the center of the store is an info desk which is always manned and has free coupon booklets and free organic coffee and tea for shoppers. If you can't find something, the people there will lead you to the correct shelf or if the store doesn't stock an item you want, you can request it there. People here care about you...they even take your groceries to your car for you. Post (and email) a response |

COMMENT from Elizabeth on Aug 26, 2003 I adore this store (I go to the Alexandria, VA branch). The selection is wonderful (lots of the unusual ingredients you can't find other places) and the prices are hard to believe. Post (and email) a response |

COMMENT from OM on Jul 4, 2003 The reason that some prices maybe a bit higher, is that Trader Joe's is a major CORPORATION. The money you spend in their stores does not stay in our community, it enables a few at the top to become richer. I feel that My Org. Mkt is concerned with carrying quality goods as well as having great prices. Post (and email) a response |

COMMENT from Steve on Jun 2, 2003 I agree with deb about how the Rockville store seems to have more than the College Park store. I love the liquid version of Tazo Chai tea..which the Rockville had a huge seperate display for, and the College Park didn't have any at all. Post (and email) a response |

COMMENT from amie on Nov 27, 2002 A new MOM's just opened in Alexandria near Del Ray on Mt. Vernon Ave. I love it! I just purchased some vegetarian cookbooks and, being a novice, thought I'd never be able to find all the wacky ingredients and stuff like umeboshi paste, nutritional yeast, date sugar, arrowroot etc. - But I found all of it at MOM's. I love all the organic produce too. I doesn't seem any more expensive than Giant. Granted, there is a Trader Joes near by in Old Town, which I love for getting wine, coffee etc - but you can't count on them to consistently have the variety that MOM's has. COMMENT from deb on Feb 25, 2002 MOM's is a good store with a wide variety of foods. Unfortunately, their prices are not cheaper than Fresh Fields or Trader Joe's on some items. The almond butter that costs $6 at MOM's costs only $4 at Trader Joe's. They carry some hard-to-find products in their Rockville store but then do not carry them in their College Park store. It's an inconvenience that they can't order items from their Rockville store for the College Park store.
The Rockville store has a good vitamin person on staff to answer your questions and help you find what you need amidst the many bottles of vitamins and supplements. I really like that. |
