- Description:
Peasants' Plot is run by husband and wife Todd and Julia McDonald. They conceived of "the Plot" while living in Chicago and moved to farmland in 2007. Since then, they've sold to Chicago farmers markets and to a small, growing group of CSA members.
Peasants' Plot caters their CSA to individuals, using staple vegetables and recipes for one or two people. The vegetables are:
salad mixes, lettuce, radishes, arugula, spinach, chard, kale, kohlrabi, beets, broccoli, onions, carrots, potatoes, tomatoes, zucchini, squash, cucumbers, peppers, garlic, dill, chives, cilantro and basil.
If you are someone looking to learn more about farming, Todd works with 3-4 interns every year and about 20 worker shareholders out in the field. To learn more and to download an application for the worker shareholder program, visit www.peasantsplot.com.
