Furniture is made from local (Illinois) trees, which have been removed by towns
in and around Chicago. Trees are often knocked down in storms, or removed by
owners, and would originally be used for landfill or firewood.
Common tree
species are walnut, oak, mulberry, ash, catalpa, cherry, and many wood species
which are traditionally assumed not suitable for furniture. Desks, tables,
chairs, are for sale and in stock, custom pieces can be built with purchaser's
involvement. Furniture is build using traditional joinery, no nails or metal
fastners are used. Finish is natural oil, no harmful chemicals to skin or air,
finishes are hand rubbed.
