The Beauty of Birthing Baby
You move your hands around your belly,
feeling the shape of the baby you are nurturing inside. What a perfect home you
have created for baby. Warm, nourished, and secure your baby has everything it
needs to develop and grow.
You are feeling well. Yet you are concerned
about the approaching day. Will I be able to endure the possible discomforts of
pregnancy? How will I handle labor and birth? Will I still be able to provide a
safe and secure environment for my baby?
You may or may not have asked
yourself these questions. If you have, you are not alone. Since there are
answers to these questions, you can be at peace knowing that you can have a
successful pregnancy and birth! There are various ways to prepare your mind and
body for the challenges to come. One way is through a Massage Program. With a
specialized, Certified Pre and Perinatal Massage Therapist, you can successfully
prepare your body for labor and help prevent or correct a lot of the postural
aches and pains that may develop in late pregnancy. It is NEVER too early to
begin this program. And contrary to popular, unfounded myth, massage is safe
even in your first trimester. Massage has also been known to help in conception
by easing stress levels allowing your body to take hold.
Another way
to aid in a successful, safe, and secure environment is by having a Birth Doula.
A Certified Birth Doula is someone who supports you emotionally, physically, and
educationally throughout pregnancy, labor and birth, and postpartum. Studies
have shown that with the assistance of a birth doula, labor may be shorter, less
painful, and with happier results for mother-baby.
As a Licensed
Massage Therapist, Certified Pre and Perinatal Massage Therapist, Certified
Birth Doula –CD(DONA), and also certified in Adult and Infant CPR, I would love
