Wildlife S.O.S. is working to rescue and rehabilitate the dancing bears of
India. 'Dancing Bears' are sloth bears that are brutally forced to 'dance' for
tourists. This has been a tradition in India for hundreds of years.
There are
currently about 200 bears that suffer the miserable life as a dancing bear.
Currently Wildlife S.O.S. has rescued over 500 bears. These animals, once
rescued, live out the remainder of their lives on a jungle sanctuary where they
are treated for their injuries and then taught how to be a bear for the first
time.
Wildlife S.O.S. is also buying land for wildlife preservation and is very
involved in anti-poaching.
