The VivaVegie Society, www.vivavegie.org, is a non-profit organization based in
New York City. It publishes a powerful document called "101 Reasons Why I'm a
Vegetarian," by Pamela Rice. Ms. Rice calls it her "mighty convincer." The group
also has a vegetarian center in a well-trafficked part of the city, where it
hosts programs, lectures, video screenings, and other events. The center also
functions as a research room, a referral center and place to obtain lapel
buttons and T-shirts. The group also publishes a journal five times per year
called "The VivaVine: The vegetarian-issues magazine."
