Vegetarians of Washington is an independent nonprofit organization of people from all
walks of life, but you don’t need to be a vegetarian to join! We believe in providing a
“can do” atmosphere where everybody proceeds at their own pace, and can enjoy the
experience.
We hold gourmet monthly buffet dinners, nutrition and cooking classes, and
organize Vegfest, the biggest annual vegetarian food festival in the US, in March of each
year.
See our three books. Veg-Feasting in the Pacific Northwest is a guidebook to
vegetarian and veg-friendly dining in Washington and Oregon. The Veg-Feasting Cookbook is
packed with recipes from many of the restaurants in our guidebook. The newest book, The
Vegetarian Solution, your answer to cancer, heart disease, global warming and more, is
packed with helpful information on the benefits of a vegetarian diet.
Our members
receive the Vegetarian Times magazine and benefit from discounts at our events and from
local businesses.
