For years we smoked and canned salmon for our own use, and to give as gifts.
Tips and techniques learned from our grandparents led us to make a product that
local folks really loved, and wanted to be able to buy. They wanted TOP QUALITY
smoked salmon products they could not find on the market. Since we couldn�t
afford to keep giving away major amounts of salmon we started a business that
allows us to offer seafood at reasonable prices with the same high standards
passed down to us.
Most other seafood companies are very large and have
facilities in several areas in Alaska, Washington and Oregon. Tonka Seafoods
however is owned by local families from one fishing town in Petersburg Alaska.
Your fish will always be caught, hand processed and shipped directly to you from
Southeast Alaska. All of our products are organic and natural with nothing added
but salt, alder smoke and the salmon itself.
