We are a small, independently owned bookstore and bakery devoted to providing
food for body and mind. We specialize in information and resources on
homesteading and farmsteading skills. We have a broad selection of titles on
sustainable agriculture, indigenous architecture, and renewable energy
technology. Information on growing your own food, voluntary simplicity, and good
ol' yankee ingenuity is also important to us. We have an active web site with
over 6,000 titles listed, but our physical inventory is much larger - housed in
a big old Main Street house, where browsers can get wonderful organic lunches,
pastries, hot and cold drinks, free wireless access, and lots of provocative
conversation. We live, work, celebrate, and vote in beautiful Vermont.
