As your doula, it is my job to not only support you physically but also
emotionally through the labor process. This support begins before labor and
goes into the early postpartum period. I meet with you at least twice prenatally
to get to know you and your desires for your birth. as well as explore your
fears about birth. In our meetings, I provide education about childbirth and
breastfeeding as well as the postpartum period. At your request, I can take
photos or video at your birth with either your camera or mine. I stay with you
continuously throughout labor and help you establish breastfeeding. Finally, I
meet with you within a week or two of your birth to review your experience and
talk about early postpartum issues and help with breastfeeding as needed.
