Right Dress licorice root mulch has been used by NJ & PA organic gardeners and
landscapers for 45+ yrs. Now available to garden centers in CT for 2010
delivery. Licorice root mulch is a co-product of the licorice flavoring
extraction process. The mulch is the water steamed mash which is sterilized.
Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is a member of the Leguminosae family. All legumes
process atmospheric nitrogen and store it in their roots. The nitrogen is
imediately available during decomposition. Saturate Media Extraction testing by
UCONN confirms the availability of essential plant nutrients and affirms use as
a soil amendment and mulch. Compost Analysis by Brookside Laboratories confirms
12 of 13 macro and micro-nutrients available. Carbon to Nitrogen analysis <25:1
- favorable to nitrogen mineralization. Suitable for use in organically oriented
vegetable gardens and for homeowners concerned about pharmaceutical and hormone
residue in animal waste. Tests results available on request.
