Mum�s the Word was founded by Michele Nizza in January 2001. Her vision�to
provide prenatal, birth and postpartum/breastfeeding support for mothers and
families in her hometown of Monterey, California���was driven by her desire for
expectant parents to have a solid foundation on which to build their families.
As a Certified Birth Doula, Michele�s fee includes two prenatal visits, labor
and delivery, and two postpartum visits. More visits can be arranged as
necessary. Phone contact throughout your pregnancy is also included in the fee.
As a Postpartum Doula, Michele provides support to the mother and her family
during this transitional phase. She offers breastfeeding assistance and
referrals and can assist with childcare, light cooking and cleaning, and
errands. Initial consultation is free. There is an hourly rate with a three-hour
minimum per day.
