This group practices a concept to reduce landfill and share with other members
of the community that may put these items to good use.
In the end you have the
joy of taking home a new treasure, putting a smile on someone's face, and
meeting others in your community.
There is a catch. Everything Must Be Free And
No Trades. Our mission is to keep stuff from our bulging landfills by making the
free exchange of items from hands that no longer want it, to hands that do. We
promote the reduction of clutter in the lives of our members,
and making new
friends in the process. When founded, we were the Melbourne Freecyclers and at
that time joined many individual groups across the globe in a grassroots
movement of people who were exchanging, giving and receiving, stuff for free in
their
local communities. If we keep it local and keep it simple, one person's
trash can truly be another's tresure.
