A doula is a woman who provides physical and emotional support to women during
their birthing time. Studies have shown that when a doula is present with a
mother in labor, rates of interventions are decreased, Cesarean section
surgeries are decreased, labor is shortened, and a woman�s satisfaction with her
birth experience is increased significantly.
