I was certified through the Midwest Institute of Natural Healing which was
certified to operate by the Coordinating Board for Higher Education in Missouri.
My curriculum there reflected the importance of exposure to many health and
wellness subjects while developing in-depth knowledge of major health issues of
society today. Here is a list of some, but not all topics covered in class:
the importance of physical activity (yoga, walking, etc.); digestion; fats,
proteins and carbohydrates; food pyramids; food politics; whole grains and how
to cook them; cravings, weight loss, obesity and metabolism; blood-typing; food
combining; detoxification; osteoporosis; diabetes; heart disease; cancer;
Crohn's disease; artificial sweeteners; arthritis and other inflammatory
diseases; the creation of chronic, degenerative diseases in our body and diet
theories and fads.
