The Human Development International is the initiator of the Call to Save the
Mountains of the World endorsed by the former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan,
His Holiness the Dalai Lama and other leaders..Called HDI in short, believes
that aside from reducing gas emission there also a need to restore and save
mountains which is the habitat of forest, the natural and economical sink of
carbon dioxide that causes global warming. Mountains too as great water tower
provides water to the lowland for trees and other vegetation to grow. Indeed
mountains provides us with the air we breathe, the water we drink and other life
giving sustenance as well as mitigate global warming. Encourage everyone to join
