The GRASP site is a home office for people interested in the legal innovation of
personhood for non-human great apes. The site will explore and develop effective
models for the legal defence of non-human apes, in order to act as a catalyst
for legal progress in our relationship with the other great apes. Specifically,
the goal of GRASP is to enable a non-human plaintiff to sue in a court of law in
her own name, with the assistance of a human guardian.
