|
Friends of County Animal Shelters (FOCAS) supports the adoption programs for animals in
the three shelters operated by the County of San Diego Department of Animal Services.
FOCAS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was formed to help the lost and abandoned dogs
and cats in these public shelters. FOCAS has no shelters of its own, but works with the
three County shelters in a variety of ways:
* Provides an adoption counselor at each of
the three county animal shelters
* Arranging weekend adoption events
* Provides some of
the veterinary costs and adoption fees when a responsible adopter needs financial
assistance.
* Operating foster home program for kittens and animals recovering from
medical treatment.
