Friends of the Forest Preserves works to preserve, protect, and restore the Cook
County Forest Preserves for the benefit of people and nature.
We want the
Forest Preserve District of Cook County to be one of the proudest and most
respected institutions of the region. We are scientists, homemakers, computer
programmers, students, grandparents, preserve neighbors, suburbanites and
urbanites with a wide range of interests and points of view. What unites us is a
love of the outdoors, a love of nature and the belief that -- with a bit of care
-- biodiversity is compatible with human diversity. All who support the mission
of the forest preserves and want to help out are invited to join.
Friends of
the Forest Preserves is a not-for-profit organization. Basic membership is $20,
click the link in the upper right corner to join online now. Members receive the
newsletter and all major alerts and will be invited to Friends events.
