and is run entirely by volunteers.
Dues, donations, fundraising income,
grants, gifts and bequests are expended to assist in the promotion and
subsidizing of spaying and neutering of animals.
Friends developed an
outreach program for the Long Beach Animal Control in 1999 called SNIP
(Spay/Neuter Incentive Program) to diminish the pet over-population problem by
targeting low-income, high-volume, pet over-populated areas, and by using
clinics offering the lowest spay and neuter costs, to maximize program
effectiveness.
