Welcome to Frieda's® Inc., and a whole new world of exotic and unusual fruits,
vegetables and specialty produce. As the nation's leading marketer and
distributor of specialty produce, we're dedicated to delivering new and
traditional tastes from all over the world.
Since the company's founding in
1962, we've built our reputation as an innovative and reliable supplier of
exotic, premium-quality produce. In fact, Frieda's has introduced such
table-staples as Kiwifruit, Brown Mushrooms, Alfalfa Sprouts, Spaghetti Squash,
Jicama, Shallots, Mangos, Donut® Peaches and a wide variety of Latin and Asian
specialties.
Another first for Frieda's was the pioneering use of our own
brand name labels on produce. Currently, we supply grocery retailers,
wholesalers and food service distributors with more than 500 different items
through our branded lines: Frieda's®, Cocina de Frieda's®, Asian Specialties™,
and Vegetarian Solutions™.
Frieda's is also the first wholesale produce
company in the U.S. to be founded, owned, and operated by a woman -- and remains
a family-owned and operated business today. Frieda Caplan is founder and
Chairman of the Board, while her daughters Karen and Jackie serve as
President/CEO and Vice President, respectively.
Based in Los Alamitos,
California, Frieda's now has more than 125 employees and maintains an
85,000-square-foot warehouse for supplying retailers and food service
distributors throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Today, as in the past, we'll
continue operations built on the philosophy of 100% customer satisfaction and
service. We'll continue our quest for new fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes
and other unique foods from around the world. And we'll continue introducing
