The Society was founded in 1980 as a non-profit, educational organization
dedicated to promoting vegetarianism in Knoxville and the region. Our goal is to
provide information about the many positive aspects of vegetarianism, including
those of health, nutrition, animal welfare, the alleviation of world hunger, and
the preservation of a natural environment.
There are currently about 150
members, not all vegetarians! We welcome anyone seeking a healthier and more
compassionate lifestyle.
