Development Voyage initiated a new model of Nepali market named BAZAAR in
Rastrabank Chowk, Pokhara since 2009.BAZAAR is composed of three businesses:
Nepali market, restaurant and cybercafé, combined together under a brand. BAZAAR
aims to produce, package, brand, market and promote local Nepali productions
produced in sustainable (i.e. eco/bio/organic) and fair-trade manner by
low/middle income producers. The local productions range from handicrafts,
home-made food items, tea, coffee, organic products to vegetables. Creating the
market for local productions, Development Voyage wants to create economic
opportunities for local communities and producers, thus, contributing to
sustainable development of the communities.
