Dr. Rebecca L. Griffiths has dedicated the last 25 years to the study and treatment of
dysfunction of the Temporomandibular Joints, more commonly referred to as "TMJ" problems.
Dr. Griffiths' interest in TMD was the result of personally experiencing devastating
headaches, facial muscle spasms and teeth clenching for more than eight years due to a TMJ
problem and in spite of being told she had a "perfect bite".
As a practicing dentist
she spent more than four years seeing physicians and other dentists before her problem was
accurately diagnosed and treated successfully. It was difficult to locate someone who was
knowledgeable enough in this area to treat her TMJ problem and as a result, she trained
with that dental physician in order to bring these skills to others that are suffering as
she once did.
