Davis Farms is a Community Supported Agriculture farm in Roberta GA, 30 miles west of
Macon GA. Growing on family owned land, we use well water and grow according to
sustainable and organic methods. We start organic seeds in our greenhouse which we
renovated with lumber grown on our land. We recycled the greenhouse tables, sprinkler
system, water heater and fan from my husbands hog farm which he ran in the 1980's. We
fertilize with on-farm compost and worm casting from our worm boxes. We installed drip
irrigation to 16 raised beds, each one 4 feet by 16 feet. We also have drip irrigation on
about 4 acres of fields. Our product selection includes strawberries, wild blackberries,
vegetables, herbs, eggs and organic rice. We open our catfish pond to shareholders and
hold workshops on the farm on a variety of topics related to food and health. Our
distribution location is Wesleyan College in Macon. We host school and community groups
and offer educational activities for these groups.
