"Cage Free" eggs from Chino Valley Ranchers mean that our flocks are not kept in small
cages as are most commercial hens in
egg production. We maintain
environmentally-controlled "community houses" where our chickens have the freedom to roam
the floor of the houses. These houses have ample floor space and poles with
roosting and
nesting areas, like the hen houses "back home on the farm." This is done to reduce the
stress that would be an inherent part of an overcrowded cage operation.
