The CHEETA Primate Sanctuary is a desert haven that provides residence and
lifelong care and rehabilitation for homeless and unwanted ex-show business
primates. There are chimpanzees, orangutans, and monkeys at our desert refuge.
The founder of the sanctuary created the shelter after he received custody of
Cheeta. Cheeta is a chimpanzee that performed in the old black-and-white Tarzan
movies from the 1930's and 1940's.
All of the animals at the sanctuary are
treated with love and kindness. The animals are provided with a stimulating
environment and given activities that stir their intellect and curiosity.
You can help us support the sanctuary by making a donation. We are a 501(c)(3)
non-profit; all funds go directly into the care of our animal friends and upkeep
of the sanctuary. Your donations are tax deductible.
