I batik and dye by hand beautifully blank pieces of hemp, organic cotton,
tencel, and bamboo blend fabrics. I then use the batiked fabric to make bags,
pouches, clothing, quilts, and so on. Sustainable fabrics are both soft and
strong; absolutely dreamy to work with!
Batik is the process of applying wax
to fabric to resist dye, and each piece is done individually. I batik with soy
wax, use low impact permanent procion dyes, and dye with minimal water.
