A visit takes visitors inside a unique green lifestyle � demonstrating real life
on a working farm. The Earthship, a passivle solar home where the family lives
is contructed of tires, cans, bottles, strawbales and re-claimed barn wood. A
5,000 gallon cistern collects rain water from the roof. All water from inside
the house drains into to giant planters called �wetlands� where plants can be
grown year round. Visitors from across the globe take tours, go on llama treks,
or take part in workshops created to teach how to use old and new techniques to
have a greener lifestyle. Workshops focus on green living, natural gardening,
strawbale construction, solar cooking, building a plastic bottle greenhouse, and
more. Staying for the noon meal is a must with three locally grown and produced
courses finished by a proper cup of British tea in a vintage china tea cup.
