Our name “Asha” means hope, and we distribute products made by people who have
been given a chance to rise above their circumstances and take back their
humanity. Each product comes with a tag describing the story of how the items
were made.
All products are fair-trade & good for the environment. Items
include recycled, colorful sari throws, scarves, pillow covers & placemats, and
handbags made from recycled plastic bags. Both categories are made only by
people coming out of the slums of Kolkata, India.
We also offer handbags made
from women in India who have been rescued from international sex trafficking and
have been given good jobs making beautiful jute bags.
